Reinvent Social Security
Problem: As the baby boomers retire, the U.S. will no longer be
able to afford to pay out Social Security benefits without drastically
raising taxes on younger workers.
Solution: Reinvent Social Security now in a way that is fair to
all generations -- and protects today's at-risk seniors.
Detailed Proposal
See Revolution X, by Rob Nelson and Jon Cowan, pages 122-125.
I will put this proposal on-line soon.
For More Information
This generationally fair benefits means-test has been endorsed by the
National Taxpayers' Union, Citizens for a Sound Economy, and the
American Association of Boomers. NTU fights for taxpayer savings,
holding Congress's feet to the fire on many spending issues. CSE
lobbies for a free-market economy and the lifting of government taxes
and regulation. The formation of a private Social Security system is
backed by the AAB, the leading advocacy group for boomers, although
their membership benefits are available to anyone. To reach these
groups, call

- Citizens for a Sound Economy, (800) 925-7921
- American Association of Boomers, (800) BOOMERS
